FAQ
Which jewellery makes a good confirmation gift?
For a confirmation, symbolic pieces of jewellery such as cross necklaces, Ichthys pendants, pearls or engraved bracelets are especially popular. A personalised engraving with the name or confirmation date makes the gift even more personal.
Is a necklace or a bracelet better for a confirmation?
The choice between a necklace and a bracelet for a confirmation depends on personal preference and the symbolic meaning you are looking for.
- Necklace: Worn close to the heart, it symbolises faith, protection and spiritual connection. It is a classic choice and is particularly suitable for formal occasions. Popular designs are cross pendants, Ichthys symbols or pearl necklaces.
- Bracelet: Understated, suitable for everyday use and comfortable to wear. With every movement, it is a reminder of the special day, and it can be personalised with engravings or small symbols. Perfect for anyone who prefers a subtle keepsake.
• Our tip: If it's a timeless, formal piece of jewellery you're looking for, a necklace is ideal. If you'd like a practical, understated keepsake, a bracelet could be the better choice.
Is there confirmation jewellery that can be personalised?
Yes! Personalised confirmation jewellery makes the gift even more unique and meaningful. With individual engravings or special designs, the piece can be given a truly personal touch.
• Personalisation options:
- Name & date engraving – The confirmation date or the name of the person being confirmed turns the piece into a lasting keepsake.
- Blessings & Bible verses – Short, inspiring words or symbols such as a small cross or an Ichthys add spiritual meaning.
- Birthstone or healing stone – A gemstone that matches the birth month or the personality of the person being confirmed can serve as an extra lucky charm.
• Our tip: Choose a piece with an engraving or a symbol pendant, so you can celebrate the confirmation in a special way.
Which symbols are popular for confirmation jewellery?
Confirmation jewellery often features religious and spiritual symbols, which express faith, protection and blessing. Here are some of the most popular symbols and their meanings:
• Cross – The best-known Christian symbol, standing for faith, protection and a connection to God. A classic for confirmation necklaces and bracelets.
• Ichthys (fish symbol) – An ancient Christian sign that stands for Jesus Christ and faith. Particularly subtle and rich in symbolism for pendants or engravings.
• Angel – Symbolises protection and heavenly companionship on life's journey. Perfect for a delicate necklace or an engraved bracelet.
• Dove – Stands for the Holy Spirit, peace and divine guidance. A beautiful detail for dainty pendants.
• Heart – Expresses love, love of God and a close bond with family. Especially popular as a small engraving or combined with other symbols.
• Pearl – Stands for purity, wisdom and spiritual growth. An elegant choice for confirmation jewellery with a touch of timelessness.
• Our tip: Choose a symbol that suits the faith and personality of the person being confirmed – or combine several symbols for an even deeper meaning!
Which materials are best suited to confirmation jewellery?
Confirmation jewellery should not only be symbolically meaningful, but high-quality and long-lasting too. Here are the best materials for confirmation necklaces and bracelets:
• 925 sterling silver – A classic for confirmation jewellery: elegant, timeless and comfortable against the skin. Perfect for cross pendants, Ichthys symbols or personalised engravings.
• Stainless steel (gold-plated or silver-coloured) – Particularly robust, easy to care for and ideal for everyday wear. A stylish and modern alternative to silver.
• Gold (yellow gold, white gold, rose gold) – An elegant, high-quality material with a festive character. Ideal for a long-lasting keepsake.
• Pearls – Stand for purity and wisdom and give the jewellery a delicate, classic touch. Especially beautiful combined with silver or gold.
• Healing stones & birthstones – Stones such as amethyst (inner calm), rose quartz (love) or rock crystal (clarity) give the jewellery a personal and spiritual meaning.
• Our tip: Choose a material that suits the style of the person being confirmed – silver for a classic look, stainless steel for everyday practicality or gold for an elegant touch.
What do you write in a confirmation card?
A confirmation card should be personal, warm and inspiring. Traditionally, it contains congratulations, blessings and sometimes a Bible verse.
Sample messages for a confirmation card:
• Classic & formal:
"Congratulations on your confirmation! May faith be with you on every path you take and give you strength and confidence."
• With a Bible verse:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3.5)"
• Personal & heartfelt:
"Today a new chapter begins in your life – full of faith, hope and love. I wish you all the best on your journey!"
